Helps save the environment. If you purchase ebooks, rather than regular books you are helping to cut down on paper use. Any digital product does not have to be shipped to you, so you are also avoiding throwing away all that packaging.
Many flexible payment options. Most online stores allow you to pay via credit cards, PayPal, check, cash on delivery and lots more.
Convenience. You can shop at anytime, from anywhere in the world.
Lower prices. There is heaps of competition between online stores so you can usually save a fair amount of money by buying online.
Save time. You don’t have to wait around in queues when purchasing online. You also avoid walking between all the different stores comparing prices.
Can read reviews from other people who purchased the product, and decide whether it will be right for you.
Can avoid paying tax by purchasing goods online (depending on your local taxation laws).
You can buy nearly any item online.
It is generally safe, provided you only purchase from reputable companies (such as Amazon and Ebay).

Disadvantages (Cons):

High shipping fees. This is not always the case, but you should always check what the shipping costs are because it may increase the price of the product substantially.
Security concerns. Not all sites are legitimate and you should do you research before buying at any site you’ve never heard of.
Can’t try the item before you buy it.
Most sites make you pay for any returns.
Many sites have poor customer service, and it can take days for companies to respond to your emails.
Some sites may be difficult to use.
