			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I am going to take you through a recipe of an American favorite- New York Strip Steak. This is my personal favorite recipe to deliver the tastiest steak ever. <p><strong>New York Strip Steak Recipe: How to Cook a New York Strip Steak</strong></p>
<p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>12 ounces of Beer</li>
<li>1/4 cup of Olive Oil</li>
<li>2 tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar. Alternatively, just use red wine.</li>
<li>1 clove of crushed Garlic</li>
<li>1 teaspoon of dry Mustard</li>
<li>1/2 teaspoon of Salt</li>
<li>1/4 teaspoon of Pepper</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Choosing the Right Steak</strong></p>
<p>Make sure you choose a &#8216;USDA Prime&#8217; steak for the best quality meat. &#8216;Choice&#8217; and &#8216;Select&#8217; grade meat are lower quality meats with less flavor. However, they might be a good option if you are on a budget. My top marinade should make them taste better!</p>
<p><strong>The Recipe:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>At least six hours before you start cooking (for optimum flavor) combine all the ingredients above in a bowl. Note the ingredients should be sufficient to marinate 2 steaks. Just double or triple the ingredients if you are using more steaks.</li>
<li>Add the steaks to the bowl and make sure they are completely covered in the liquid for complete marination.</li>
<li>An hour before cooking, take the steaks out of the marinade and let them rest and come to room temperature. They will cook more evenly if they dry out.</li>
<li>15 minutes before the cooking starts, put you barbeque (or barbecue as it is sometimes spelled!) on high heat. You want the hottest surface to reach about 500-600 degrees.</li>
<li>When the barbeque is nice and hot, place the steaks on the hottest part of the grill. Flip after 5 minutes when the outside is dark. Cook the other side for another 5 minutes.</li>
<li>Take the steaks off the hottest part of the barbeque but let them continue cooking for a few minutes on a warm part of the barbeque. Leave them cook until the steak is done to your requirements. If you like medium-rare steaks you may not want to let it continue cooking for long. Cooking time also varies depending on the thickness of the steak.</li>
<li>Leave for 5 minutes before serving. You may want to put a bit of butter on top which melts into the steak and adds some flavor.</li>
</ol>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mashed potatoes are really very easy to make. This post will tell you my favorite mashed potato recipe and give you a few hints on how to make your mashed potatoes extra special!</p>
<p><strong>How do you make mashed potatoes?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Recipe: Simple, Creamy, Mashed Potatoes<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>Ingredients (to serve 4):<br />
</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>1 1/2 lbs (680 grams) of potatoes. The best potatoes are either Russets or Yukon gold. Any potatoes with medium to high starch should work.</li>
<li>Salt and Pepper</li>
<li>4 tablespoons of cream</li>
<li>2 tablespoons of butter</li>
<li>1 tablespoon of milk</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Method</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Peel the potatoes and then cut them into quarters (length-wise).</li>
<li>Place the potatoes in a saucepan and add about half a teaspoon of salt.</li>
<li>Cover the potatoes with water and bring the water to a boil.</li>
<li>As soon as the water begins to boil, reduce heat to a simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes. Check to see when they are done by sticking a fork through them. If the fork goes all the way through it is properly cooked!</li>
<li>Warm the cream and melt the butter together. You can do this in a saucepan or in the microwave (cooking times will vary- just wait until the butter has melted)</li>
<li>Drain the water from the potatoes. Some people say to leave some of the water during the mashing but I find it works best without the water.</li>
<li>Put the potatoes into a bowl and add the cream and butter. Use a potato masher to mash those potatoes! If you don&#8217;t have a masher you can use a fork (although this can take a bit of time!)</li>
<li>When the potatoes are well mashed (there shouldn&#8217;t be any &#8216;lumps&#8217;), add milk and beat the potatoes with a spoon until the potatoes are soft and creamy. Be careful not to over-beat as the potatoes can get gluey.</li>
<li>Add salt and pepper to taste.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Other Hints:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You can add some more herbs and spices. Garlic, onions and rosemary are nice additions.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t be afraid to add some cheese or bacon bits. They can really add a lot to the dish.</li>
<li>Experiment a little! Try cooking them with the peel and see if it tastes better. Why not try sour cream? Keep modifying the recipe until you find something you really like!</li>

<li>Add the cocoa, milk, butter and sugar into a large saucepan. Mix them together well.</li>
<li>Bring the saucepan to the boil.</li>
<li>Boil the mixture for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.</li>
<li>Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the peanut butter. Stir the mixture until the peanut butter is well blended.</li>
<li>Add the remaining ingredients (nuts, oats, salt and vanilla extract). Stir again.</li>

<li>Now spread evenly over the top of the crust.</li>
<li>Top with your fruit and then refrigerate the cake.</li>
<li>Serve with a little whipped cream and some strawberries for a great tasting cheesecake.</li>
</ol>
<p>Your friends will think you work hard to make it, when you have really only spent 10 minutes making it!</p>

<p>Vegetarian Tortilla Soup</p>
<p>Serves: 6 people (you can always refrigerate it and have it a few times during the week)</p>
<p>Difficulty: Fairly Easy</p>
<p>Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes</p>
<p>Ingredients:</p>
<ul>
<li>6 corn tortillas</li>
<li>Extra virgin olive oil</li>
<li>Salt</li>
<li>3 cloves of garlic</li>
<li>1 large onion (preferably a white onion)</li>
<li>1 teaspoon of cumin</li>
<li>2 teaspoons of coriander</li>
<li>1 teaspoon of hot chili powder</li>
<li>14 ounce (400g) can of crushed tomatoes</li>
<li>Cheese (any sort you like)</li>
<li>6 cups of water or vegetable broth</li>
</ul>
<p>Method:</p>
<ol>
<li>Cut the tortilla into small, thin, strips.</li>
<li>Toss the tortilla strips with a good dash of olive oil and salt.</li>
<li>Put the strips in the oven at 350F (175C) and bake for 10 minutes. They should turn golden brown.</li>
<li>In the meantime, dice all your vegetables.</li>
<li>Put a big soup pot on medium heat with a good splash of olive oil.</li>
<li>Add the garlic, onion and salt to the pot and cook for one minute.</li>
<li>Now stir your tomatoes and spices into the pot and cook for five minutes. Make sure that you check your tortilla strips.</li>
<li>Take the pot off the heat after the five minutes are up and add one cup of water (or broth) to the pot and puree with a blender.</li>
<li>Add the remaining five cups and continue to puree until the mixture is smooth.</li>
<li>Bring the pot back to the simmer and cook for ten more minutes.</li>
<li>Serve the soup with a generous number of tortilla strips and a good helping of cheese.</li>
</ol>
<p>Dead Simple Tortilla Soup</p>
<p>Serves: 2 people</p>
<p>Difficulty: Easy</p>
<p>Preparation Time: 5 minutes</p>
<p>Ingredients:</p>
<ul>
<li>10.5 ounce (300g) can of condensed chicken soup</li>
<li>10.5 ounce can of condensed rice soup</li>
<li>10 ounce (280g) can of diced tomatoes</li>
<li>8 ounce (230g) can of tomato sauce</li>
<li>8 ounces of tortilla chips</li>
<li>Cheddar cheese</li>
</ul>
<p>Method:</p>
<ol>
<li>Combine the soups, tomatoes and sauce in a large pot on medium heat.</li>
<li>Bring the mixture just to the boil and then take off the heat.</li>
<li>Put some tortilla chips and cheese at the bottom of a bowl and serve the soup over the top.</li>

<li>4 large potatoes</li>
<li>1 onion</li>
<li>2 quarts (1.9L) of milk</li>
<li>Salt</li>
<li>Pepper</li>
<li>2 teaspoons of butter</li>
</ul>
<p>Method:</p>
<ol>
<li>Peel the potatoes and onion and put them in a soup pot. Cover the vegetables in water and bring the pot to the boil.</li>
<li>Continue boiling until the pot is nearly dry.</li>
<li>Mash the potatoes and onion.</li>
<li>Add the milk, butter, salt and pepper to the mashed vegetables.</li>
<li>Strain and serve.</li>
</ol>
<p>I told you that was easy!</p>
<p>Other Tips:</p>
<ul>
<li>You could add some cream to the soup for extra flavor.</li>
<li>For a less basic recipe, you could add a few more vegetables or a few pieces of fried bacon.</li>

<li>When the water begins to boil, add the beef, onion, salt and pepper to the pot</li>
<li>Reduce the heat so that the mixture simmers</li>
<li>Cover the pot with a lid and leave the mixture to simmer for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every half hour</li>
<li>While you wait, peel the carrots and potatoes and prepare all the other vegetables</li>
<li>Add the vegetables to the mixture after the simmering period, bring the mixture back to the boil (put the lid on the pot again), and then reduce it to a simmer again</li>
<li>Cook for an hour</li>
</ol>
<p>Other Tips:</p>
<ol>
<li>Some people enjoy some rice in their beef stew. Add it when you add the potatoes and carrots to the mixture</li>
<li>You can thicken the mixture by adding some flour or cornstarch mixed with cold water. Add it right at the end of cooking, stirring it into the mixture for a few minutes</li>
<li>Reheating leftover beef stew is easy! Just simmer the mixture in a large pot for about 30-40 minutes, or until the mixture is heated all the way through</li>
<li>You could also add other meat to the mixture, such as bacon, or other vegetables</li>
</ol>
