Dangers of Laser Hair Removal
By: Want To Know It
A few days ago I answered a common question people have about laser hair removal, ‘is laser hair removal permanent‘. Today, I will discuss the potential dangers of laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is generally considered very safe, with under 5% of people experiencing any bad side effects.
Dangers of Laser Hair Removal
- Some people experience a slight redness and swelling of the skin for up to 24 hours after the laser treatment. It generally lasts for only a few hours.
- More serious, but rarer, is the possibility that the skin will be burnt. If the laser is not set to the correct parameters, there is a chance of a burn. Different lasers are used for different skin and hair colors.
- An extremely rare complication is spots appearing on the skin where a patient has laser hair removal treatment. This is caused by sun exposure. Patients are advised to keep out of the sun for 3-4 weeks before and after laser hair treatment to avoid spots appearing. You should also avoid solarium’s and fake tans.
So they are the main dangers of laser hair removal. Very few people experience these side effects, but they are possible side effects.
