Here is my favorite recipe for stir fried ginger beef.

Ginger Beef Recipe:

Feeds: Variable, change the serving sizes to match the number of people you are feeding

Difficulty: Easy-Moderate

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Beef steaks
  • Cornstarch
  • Oil (I find vegetable oil the best)
  • Fresh ginger
  • Soy sauce
  • Sugar
  • Onions
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Carrots
  • Capsicum
  • Corn
  • Onion
  • Other vegetables that you enjoy. The best thing about stir fry is that you can add nearly anything. You can also swap any of the above vegetables for others. Just keep experimenting until you get a nice taste that you enjoy

Method:

  1. Cut the steaks into small, easy to stir fry, pieces
  2. Sprinkle salt, pepper, a tablespoon of cornstarch and a tablespoon of oil over the beef
  3. Cover the bottom of a frying pan with oil and heat the pan
  4. Add the beef, 10 or more slices of ginger, all your vegetables, a few tablespoons of soy sauce and a sprinkle of sugar when the pan is hot. If you are using onions, you may want to add them a little later so that they won’t burn. Use as many vegetables as you need to feed all the hungry mouths!
  5. Stir fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until the beef is done the way you like.

Other Suggestions:

  1. You could add some eggs or partially cooked rice to the stir fry if you like them. You could also just cook some rice and have plain rice with your stir fry.
  2. A nice sprinkle of sesame sauce can also make the beef taste even better.
  3. Adding extra herbs and spices can also enhance the flavor.
  4. Partially freezing the beef can make it easier to cut.
  5. You can also add some garlic for a bit of extra flavor.
