Many webmasters want to know how to improve page rank. Google uses hundreds of factors when deciding what page rank to give to a site. Here are some of the proven ways to increase Google page rank (sometimes called PageRank- all one word).

• Trade links with similar websites.
• Create great content- so people will link to your site naturally.
• Get lots of links to your website. Links are the best way to increase page rank. However, you need to make sure that your links are coming from reputable sources. Try some of the better article submission services, directories and forums (any with reasonable page ranks and good Google search rankings). Don’t always link back to your website with the same anchor text (eg. every link saying ‘Want to Know It’). Mix it up!
• Update your site as often as possible (daily is best).
• Don’t sell links. Google can detect people who sell links only to pass on page rank. They will decrease your page rank if you are caught. See this post on Search Engine Land.
• Use the ‘nofollow’ tag on any outgoing links, including links to your contact page or privacy policy.
• If you have a blog, submit to blog directories. These usually have very good page ranks.

Is page rank useful?
