About Us

My name is Tim and I run wanttoknowit.com. Wanttoknowit.com was launched in February of 2008 with the goal of providing simple, yet factual, answers to common questions. At that time I was training to be an elementary school teacher (called a primary school teacher in Australia, where I am from) and wanted to start a side project related to my studies. It was my goal to start a website that would answer questions that children, from all over the world, send to me and this is what my site is today. We have helped thousands of children (and adults) answer interesting questions and present little known facts about all sorts of topics. This site is a very popular resource for school projects, assignments and (from one email of thanks I received) settling bar bets!

I aim to improve this site constantly and am always looking for new questions to answer and for feedback on what could be improved. To contact me you can email us, leave a comment or contact me via Google +. We have some exciting changes coming, which will hopefully improve our site to make it easier for you to use.

Although we aim to provide accurate information, this website is a hobby so I do sometimes make mistakes. If you notice something that isn’t accurate we ask you to leave a comment or suggestion via the comment form or email address listed on our page. We may not be able to reply to every comment, but we will endeavor to make any corrections that are necessary. Thank you for visiting out site, we hope you enjoyed your time here and will visit again soon!

  1. In discussion with friends last night a question came up which I have not been able to find an answer to – Were Nicolas Cage and Emma Thompson ever in a movie together?

  2. Thanks for the question. My investigations shows that they have never been in a movie together, but I’ll post the comment and let others answer it if they can!
