How Did Marilyn Monroe Die
Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean in June 1, 1962. She is most famous for being a singer, actress and model. Even years after her death she is renowned for her rendition of “Happy Birthday” and the famous picture of her standing over the air vent in a white dress. Marilyn Monroe played the lead female role in such movies as Gentlemen prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire and The Prince and the Showgirl. Unfortunately at the age of just 36 Marilyn Monroe was found dead at her Brentwood home on August 5, 1962.
How did Marilyn Monroe Die?
How Marilyn Monroe died is still as much of a mystery today as it was back then. It is agreed that the cause of her death was acute Barbiturates poisoning or in other words an overdose of these types of drugs. It is unclear whether her death was murder, a suicide or an accidental overdose. There is evidence to support all three theories but her death was officially ruled a probable suicide by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. Dr Theodore Curphey, the head coroner stated, unequivocally, that Monroe died from an oral overdose of Nembutal and chloral hydrate. He estimated she had swallowed at least 50 pills. He believed this despite the lack of evidence in her digestive system of the stated pills.
The first investigator on the scene Sergeant Jack Clemmons believed her death to be a murder based on circumstantial evidence he observed at the house. The position that Monroe was lying in, the absence of a drinking glass or water to swallow the pills and the fact that the housekeeper had down the washing suggest something out of place. Post-mortem evidence also points to foul play including the fact that no evidence of pills are found in her digestive system but the drug is present in her bloodstream. Her body also indicates she died laying on her back not her stomach as she was found by police officers. There are also a significant number of bruises on her body. The evidence and mystery that surrounds Marilyn Monroe’s death have caused a lot of conspiracies and the destruction of all coroners reports have made it difficult to find the true cause of her death.
It is interesting to note that Marilyn Monroe’s death was very similar in nature to the recent death of Michael Jackson right down to the mystery surrounding how it occurred and the type of drugs found in their systems.
