Michael Jackson was undoubtedly one of the most well known and bizarre musical artists of the 20th century. “The King of Pop” as he was known made a staggering contribution to the music industry and is recognized the world around for his legendary performances which included singing, dancing and fashion. Michael Jackson first entered the music industry with his brothers as part of The Jackson 5 in the mid 1960’s. He started his own solo career in 1971. He was extremely successful and is the only musical artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Michael Jackson was awarded countless awards over his career including 13 Grammy’s, 26 American Music Awards and 13 number one singles in the U.S. He was one of the most celebrated musicians in the world with numerous best-selling albums. He also contributed hundreds of millions of dollars to charities and beneficial causes.
How and When did Michael Jackson die?
Michael Jackson died on June 25th 2009 after collapsing at his home in Holmby Hills, CA suffering a cardiac arrest. He was transported to UCLA Medical Centre and passed away at 2:26pm after repeated attempts of CPR. His death was declared a homicide and an investigation was held with his personal physician pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter. The cardiac arrest was said to have been triggered by an overdose of the drugs propofol and lorazepam. Michael Jackson was 50 years old. His funeral was held on July 7th 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angles.
