Coca-Cola, best known simply as Coke, is one of the most recognizable brands on the planet. The company’s most famous product bears the same name and is a carbonated soft drink with a secret recipe. This recipe was formulated by Dr. John S. Pemberton in 1886 and has become the most popular soft drinks in the world. Who designed the Coke logo?
The famous Coca-Cola logo was designed in 1885 by Frank Mason Robinson, who was the secretary and bookkeeper of Dr. Pemberton. Robinson came up with the name Coca-Cola for the formula created by Dr. Pemberton and wrote the name in a font called Spencerian script, which was the most common form of formal handwriting in the United States at the time. The font stuck and became the now famous Coke logo!
Robinson was responsible for many of the early Coca-Cola advertising campaigns, which included giving away many free drink coupons and using many publicity banners and signs on the local streetcars. He was also in charge of creating the first newspaper ads for the company. He worked for the company until his retirement in 1914, but remained as a company director after this time.
