Tim Robbins is a celebrity actor who began acting on the stage during high school. He continued with theater throughout college and after graduation. He discovered he was just as comfortable in front of the camera and landed many small roles in television and film. His breakthrough role came in 1988 as the character Ebby Calvin “Nuke” LaLoosh in the popular baseball film “Bull Durham.” His career quickly took off and he managed to land many leading roles including a starring role in “The Shawshank Redemption.” He was nominated for an Oscar in 1996 for Best Director, but his career highlight came in 2004 when he won an Academy Award for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
