The John Hancock Center is a 344 m (1,127 ft), 100 story, building located in Chicago, Illinois. It is home to many offices, residential condominiums and restaurants. It is currently the fourth highest building in the city and sixth highest in the United States. It is best known for the X shaped bracing (see image below) on the exterior of the building, which provides strength and support to the building. This was the first first trussed-tube building in the world and this has led to the building being recognized as an extremely important architectural icon.
