Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean in June 1, 1962. She is most famous for being a singer, actress and model. Even years after her death she is renowned for her rendition of “Happy Birthday” and the famous picture of her standing over the air vent in a white dress. Marilyn Monroe played the lead female role in such movies as Gentlemen prefer Blondes, How to Marry a Millionaire and The Prince and the Showgirl. Unfortunately at the age of just 36 Marilyn Monroe was found dead at her Brentwood home on August 5, 1962.

A Hedgehog is a large spiny mammal that has a mixture of spines and fur. It is a nocturnal animal and can be found though parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and New Zealand. There are no native hedgehogs in either Australia or North America. Those that live in New Zealand are an introduced species. There are 17 different species of hedgehog. The Hedgehog has a pig-like snout and numerous spines. When threatened, the hedgehog will roll into a ball with its spines facing outwards. Some hedgehogs will ram with their spines when threatened. It is becoming more common for hedgehogs to be kept as pets due to their sociable nature and calm demeanor. They tend to get along well with other domesticated animals.
Panama is the southernmost country found in Central America on the isthmus that connects North America to South America. It shares boarders with Costa Rica to the North West and Columba to the South East. It also has coastlines on the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Panama is located at the latitude and longitude of 09° 00 N and 80° 00 W. It has the second largest rainforest in the world and has many large rivers and mountains. Panama has a tropical climate and experiences a wet season and a dry season. The Republic of Panama controls the Panama Canal which connects the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean. It was originally a Spanish country but then joined a union with Columbia, Ecuador and Venezuela. It later became its own republic with backing from the United States.
Tim Allen is a celebrity comedian and actor most famous for his role as Tim “The Tool-Man” Taylor in the TV series “Home Improvement.” He has also had a successful film career starring in some major blockbusters such as the “Toy Story” trilogy. In fact, during a week in November 1994 he starred in the highest grossing film, top rated TV show and his book was number 1 on the New York Times best-seller list. A white blood cell or leukocytes are an important part of the body’s natural defense systems. Leukocytes defend the body against infectious diseases and foreign materials. They envelope and digest bacteria and fungi removing them from the body. Leukocytes are found throughout the body and there are five distinct types. White blood cells make up approximately 1% of adult blood and are formed in the bone marrow. The ratio of white blood cells to red blood cells is about 1:700. The two main types of white blood cells are the Lymphocytes and the Neutrophilus. Lymphocytes are made in the lymphoid tissues such as the spleen, thymus gland and lymph nodes. These cells identify foreign objects in the body and produce antibodies to attack them. Neutrophilus are made in the bone marrow and circulate via the blood stream. They move out of the blood and into the infected area to attack the bacteria.
Global warming is the names given to the increase in the Earth’s surface temperature. It is caused by the collection of greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane, in the Earth’s atmosphere. The Greenhouse Effect is where excess heat and light form the sun is trapped within the earth’s atmosphere instead of escaping into space. The term Global Warming was first coined by scientists and meteorologists in the mid 20th century. Since then investigations have been undertaken to determine what is causing the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The increase in these gases can be traced back to human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, or “Arnie” as he became known, is a popular celebrity actor known best for his thick accent and action hero roles. Before he hit the big screen he was famous for his bodybuilding feats winning many titles along the way. His big film break came with the movie “Conan the Barbarian” in 1982 and he became a true international star with “The Terminator” 2 years later. In 2003 he became the Governor of California, a position he held until 2010. This reduced his film roles to small cameos, but to the delight of all his fans he has announced an acting comeback.
