Stitches, also called sutures, is the name given to a medical device that holds the skin together after it has been severed. Stitches are usually applied with a needle and thread similar to stitching material together. Historically stitches were made from organic materials such as catgut or silk. Modern stitches are synthetic and can be absorbable or non-absorbable. Absorbable stitches are broken down by the body and do not require removal. Non-absorbable stitches must be removed from the body.
Oklahoma is a state located in the South Central region of the United States of America. The building is so iconic that the name is also sometimes used to refer to the actual Department of Defense itself. Tourette’s syndrome, commonly referred to simply as Tourette’s, is a genetic neuropsychiatric disorder that is characterised by vocal and physical tics (involuntary movement or sounds). The gallbladder is a small organ that is located just below the liver and above the stomach. In adults it is approximately 8cm (3.1 in) long and 4 cm (1.6 in) in diameter. It is hollow and is divided into three parts, the fundus, the body and the neck. The neck is connected the biliary tree via the cystic duct. This joins to the common hepatic duct which becomes the common bile duct. The gallbladder is also connected to the duodenum.
